Backlash against UK over BP in USA

Talk of a backlash against the UK over BP and the oil spillage off the coast of Florida and Louisiana.
Good god! if they are upset with the Brits then they have NO friends left!!
No one knows yet ( or not telling) why this failed. However, isn't it best to find out why first.
Obviously it isn't good about the pollution etc but for crying out loud, the Americans failed to sign the Kyoto agreement and have been bashing out carbon into the atmosphere for years, potentially killing us all!!
BP will have to compensate many people in the USA and so they should, but that's if it's their mistake. What happens if it's a manufacturing problem, what happens if it's an 'Act of God' etc etc.
There are a number of other factors here to be looked at:
Mr Obama is in the crap! He needs a diversion. His medical Bill has gone tits up and it needs to be funded by raising taxes!
If it's an 'Act of God' then the insurance companies don't have to pay out to BP or the business people in USA.
The USA has benefited from BP over the years, as well as Shell etc. It appears that BP were willing to drill down this deep and any pipe going down by up to 5 miles does seem to be prone to breakage of some kind.
The USA citizens ( or a large percentage) only panis when it happens on their shores.
++WW II for instance. Only when Pearl Harbour was bombed did they do anything.
++Al Qaeda, didn't give a damn until 9/11
Just to mention 2 items.
So in this incident, they didn't give a damn about Risk Management, as they hadn't had too many problems before, now that this has happened they haven't got a clue except bash the Brits!!
Eventually, this will blow over, BP will be charged for relationship sake, the fisherman (dying breed) in Souht Coast of USA will be compensated for more than they would have earned anyway, the clean up will happen and everyone will be happy.
Then the Yanks can go onto bashing Obama again
