Lord Young 'profoundly' apologises for 'never had it so good' comments

A senior adviser to David Cameron, Lord Young, has been forced to offer his "profound" apologies after declaring that the vast majority of Britons have "never had it so good" because of the low interest rates during the recession.

The Prime Minister's enterprise adviser said a drop in mortgage rates "since this so-called recession" had left most people better off.
