The vast majority of Britons have “never had it so good” because of the low interest rates during the recession, a senior adviser to David Cameron has declared.
Lord Young, the Prime Minister’s enterprise adviser, said a drop in mortgage rates “since this so-called recession” had left most people better off.

The guy really isn't in the real world and must have Alzheimer's.
The reason for such low rates is because everything has gone very bad!
He should try and get out on the streets of England and find out what is REALLY happening!
Although unemployment was down a little from the official figures, what he isn't looking at is the UNOFFICIAL figures!
How about taking the numbers of youngsters at college or training from ages 17-23.
The so called apprenticeship schemes send youngsters to college to keep them off the unemployment list and jobseekers allowance. This would add at least 250,000 more unemployed.
He also doesn't take into account the pensioners that are on the poverty line because they are caught in a hole.
It doesn't take into account that 95% of all new jobs are taken by immigrants from Poland, Lithuania etc because they are cheaper.
So basically, Lord Young is a bungling idiot who should keep his mouth tightly closed while he is taking money from the House of Lords for doing nothing!!!
