relying on European armed forces

In the press today they are telling us about the cuts in Armed Forces funding will make us rely more on our European partners.
This is not a good idea!!
Why?
1. We will not be able to protect countries where we have an interest in i..e. Kuwait a protected country by agreement, Falklands as 2 examples.
2. What support have we had regarding Iraq, Afghanistan etc err how about little.
3. Trust from allies like USA and the intelligence we receive.
4. We could be used for their conflicts as well.

So all in all we will be too thin and little to protect our interest anymore and we will become a minor player in the world.
What planet are these politicians on??
